Amy Carter's London Marathon 2016

Virgin London Marathon 2016 · 24 April 2016 ·
Yes, I think I must be crazy but I am lucky enough to have been offered a place in the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity team to run the London Marathon 2016 and have happily accepted.
Earlier in September one of our best friends was faced with being diagnosed with a rare form of abdominal cancer. Having spent the last 3 years together completing our nursing degrees, it is safe to say it came as a huge a shock to us all that something like this can happen to any one of us. Everyone always thinks "that won't happen to me" but unfortunately cancer seems to touch us all in some way, with many friends and family being effected.
Holly is so kind hearted, fun loving and one of the most beautiful girls you could ever wish to meet. She is always ready to be my "tall buddy" at any party situation. She would do anything for any one of us, and therefore I want to dedicate this challenge to her and the fantastic staff of The Royal Marsden.
They have been providing Holly with exceptional care and I can truly say the girls and I are so grateful for everything they have done and will continue to do for Holly and everyone else that is receiving their care and treatment. Cancer changes peoples lives forever but I hope with your support the Royal Marsden can continue to provide such amazing care to people across the country. Therefore, I ask that you please support me and The Royal Marsden Team and invest in a future beyond cancer. Your kind donations can make everything possible.
Thank you. Love Amy xx
