I was supposed to take part in the Great North Swim on September 5th 2010, swimming one mile across Lake Windermere to raise money for the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund, in loving memory in my dad, Dave Berridge, who sadly passed away in December 2008 due to the cancer. However, the swim was cancelled due to blue-green algae in the lake, so my place has been deferred to the 2011 swim.

I have to raise a minimum of £150 in order to take part in the event. If the money raised goes towards one day preventing a family from going through what we had to go through, then it'll certainly be worth it.
