Story
Pancreatic cancer is now the deadliest common cancer in the UK and has the lowest survival rate. Research is severely underfunded with most people not surviving a year after diagnosis, many not discovering they have pancreatic cancer until its too late. Our family has been directly affected by this illness in the past few years and we would love to raise awareness and money for Pancreatic cancer UK who have supported us during this time. They provide a nurse led helpline for patients which can be a lifeline for those receiving such a daunting diagnosis, giving them a point of contact outside of their scheduled appointments with GP's and consultants.
Consequently we have decided that all 4 generations of women in our family will work together to complete a triathlon. My Nan (aged 87), Mum and Auntie will be completing the running section (we may have to downgrade to walking but the distance will be the same!) , my daughter (aged 10) will be completing the cycling section and I will be taking the swim event.
Any support that you can give will be most welcome, we are hoping to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer UK to continue their fantastic work into raising awareness, providing support and funding research.
