Story

Pavers Amsterslam07

We're proud to announce that Pavers Shoes, who have over 60 shops in the UK and boast Europes largest online shoe shop at www.shoe-shop.com, have agreed to become the event sponsor for our ride.

We're also being seen off by Andrew Dunn from Dinnerladies and more recently Coronation Street!

Come and see us all off on Saturday 30th June at the York Designer Outlet, and then pay Pavers a visit at either of their two stores there!

Ride the Amsterslam! Help us to raise money for Jessie's Fund!

In the last week of June we're taking some relative cycling novices from York to Amsterdam, riding over 250 miles to raise money for Jessie's Fund.

Cycling from York Designer Outlet to Hull past the Humber Bridge, we'll jump on a ferry to drink, dance and sleep our way to Rotterdam. Once in Holland we'll cycle along the coastline for miles, passing sand dunes, windmills, canals and fields of blooming tulips. We'll pass through the historic city of Harlaam to finish in the unique city of Amsterdam. Then we'll turn around and ride back again!

  • Sat 30th June - Cycle from York Designer Outlet to Hull (50 flat miles) stop for lunch in a pub on the way – take overnight Ferry - Party and Sleep on the boat.
  • Sun 1st July – Arrive Rotterdam . Cycle to Amsterdam (68 miles) - lunch on the way by the lake at Valkenberg. Go out for the night in Amsterdam and sleep in a cheap hostel.
  • Mon 2nd July – depart Amsterdam and head back to Rotterdam past windmills, canals, etc (60 flat miles) – ferry home, party and sleep on the boat
  • Tue 3rd July– Cycle from Hull to York - a different route, through some lovely little market towns, stop for lunch at a pub. (50 miles). Arrive at York , slightly tired having had a fab adventure and made some new close friends.
We're doing this to raise CASH!

Our 2006 Amsterslam event raised over £5700!!!

This team are really gonna put themselves through it for 4 seriously tough days!!

Jessie's Fund helps seriously ill and disabled children through the power of music. The charity works with children in hospices, hospitals, schools for children with special needs, and other children's centres. Most of the children helped by Jessie's Fund can't communicate verbally, so music provides a vital means of expression.
