Story
This year, my sister and I are once again completing the couch to 5K. This time we will be running in memory of our dear cousin, Chaitali.
Very sadly, our Boudi, Chaitali, was diagnosed with a rare form of Ovarian Cancer in the summer of 2021. She was a fun-loving, gracious, elegant and beautiful soul. Her departure in November has left a tremendous hole in so many lives. She is sorely missed by us but also by her two beautiful girls, a doting husband, two sisters (and their families), her parents and our extended family.
Ovarian cancer is quite simply, a terrible disease, often silent until late stages. Far too many women are affected and sadly lose their lives unnecessarily. As healthcare professionals, we both have had many professional experiences and interactions, supporting people through this journey, but this has been our first personal experience.
Our Boudi was so extremely brave and one of the most positive, inspiring, and determined women we have had the privilege to meet. We are so grateful for our time with her. In her memory, we will continue her legacy, adopt her love of fitness and remember her beautiful everlasting smile. We'll be completing our run on her birthday, the 19th March.
If you feel that you are able to donate to this very worthy cause in honour of our beautiful Boudi, we would be so grateful. If you are not in a position to donate, we thank you for taking the time to read this, for your thoughts, and consideration in remembering Chaitali.
