Story
In the January of 2014 after having had a great holiday break and new year, I was back at work, except on this particular day, having spent a couple of hours in front of the monitor, my eyes were bloodshot. I wish it was a case of holiday blues but instead I rushed over to my local opticians in Liverpool street for an emergency appointment only to be told that I need to get myself over to Moorfields A&E.
I will leave the dramatic remainder of the story for another day but unfortunately for me the outcome was that I was diagnosed with Keratoconus with allergic conjunctivitis, which meant that I was under the long term care of Clinic 4 at Moorfields Eye Hospital.
On the 4th of August, I will be cycling 100 miles from London, over several hills in Surrey before looping back to central London in the Prudential Ride 100.
I will be doing this to fund raise for Moorfields Eye Charity, the main grant-making charity for Moorfields Eye Hospital, so that the Hospital can continue to provide the care, support and expertise to people striving for visibility and sight, something we all take for granted.
Please support me in my bike ride challenge and to raise awareness for the Moorfields Eye Charity.
Finally a massive shout out to my partner in crime, Paman, for her continued support and faith in me to be able to rise to the occasion. My daughters Nirvair and Niara, who I know cant wait to ride bikes of their own.
To Neet Nutrition (https://www.instagram.com/neet_nutrition/) for the knowledge on how to fuel myself on the epic journey
To Dirty wkend (https://www.instagram.com/dirtywknd/) for the grueling training sessions, details of which you can see on Strava - https://www.strava.com/athletes/27286336
Last but not least to my good friend Mandeep Johal for being crazy enough to sign up on for the event and teaching me how to tell the difference between a crank and a bottom bracket.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and for your support.
