Story
Bone and joint disease significantly impacts all aspects of life, causing debility and disability. As someone who loves the outdoors and is always up for an adventure or a fitness challenge it is immensely important to me to help a cause that promotes advances in the treatment of bone and joint disease and helps finds solutions that will keep people fit and healthy.
Did you know there are over 20 million people in the UK living with a musculoskeletal condition? That's about a third of the population. And its not limited to the elderly. Children and young people suffer too, with 11 per cent of those affected being under 35. Sadly, the odds are that we or someone close to us will suffer from a musculoskeletal disorder, be involved in a major limb trauma, or have joint replacement surgery at some point in our lives.Advances in trauma and orthopaedic care are driven through dynamic and innovative research. .
My own plans to run the October 2022 London Marathon were scuppered due to a tendon injury.
It has been a long journey back into training and getting ready for the London marathon
My marathon challenge comes up this Apil when I am running the London Marathon for Joint Action, the orthopaedic research appeal of The British Orthopaedic Association. I am grateful to the British Orthopaedic Association for giving me a chance to take up this challenge and support a worthy cause.
I am hoping to raise at least 1500 pounds and seek your support for this worthy cause. Your good wishes and support for my chosen charity will no doubt see me through the rigorous training and the ultimate challenge on the 23 rd April - the TCS London Marathon ! Thanks in advance for your help - big or small - is sincerely appreciated.
