Story
On 4th October it will be a year since my second dad, my dearest uncle passed away from dementia. My family are no strangers to loss suffered as a result of this cruel disease - it has taken more lives than it should have and caused immeasurable pain and suffering to some of the kindest, most gentle people I’ve had the privilege to be related to.
My uncle’s daughters (my sisters) thought this would be a great way to do something in his memory - he loved walking so what better way to remember him and raise money at the same time for Dementia research.
We would love your support, as every three minutes someone in the UK develops dementia. That's the equivalent of around 225,000 people every year.
Once you donate, JustGiving will send your money directly to Alzheimer's Society. So it's the most efficient way to raise money, saving time and cutting costs for the charity. Let's take on dementia together!
Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever. Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
Thank you!
