Story
Hi everyone! Welcome to my Just Giving page!
On Monday 24th December, I will be travelling to Reyhanli (in Turkey) to deliver food parcels to Syrian refugees living there.
Turkey hosts nearly 3 million refugees from its southern neighbour and approximately 30% live in 22 government-run camps near the Syrian border.
I'll be volunteering in Turkey to deliver essential aid to Syrian families living as refugees. Volunteers identify families in remote areas for door-to-door deliveries, distribute food packs, visit schools and orphan-care facilities, as well as spend time with locals.
SKT have a 100% donation policy so every penny donated will be used for a food parcel, all travel costs etc. will be paid by me.
So lovely people, I need your help! Please donate as little or as much as you can so I can hit my target and personally deliver 80 food parcels to those who need them. Each food parcel costs just £25 and weighs just over 20 kilos (I'll have to start lifting weights to prepare!). When I arrive, I will spend the first day packing the food parcels, alongside the other team members who will be going with me, and then the remaining days will be spent personally delivering them to the Syrian refugees! Each food parcel includes essential food items such as rice, flour, bulgar, capillary, thyme, tomato paste, spaghetti, children's sweets, olive oil, sunflower oil, green lentils, red lentils, tea and sugar.
You can even donate the money for a food parcel in your own name or the name of a loved one, just let me know the name and I will make sure your food parcel is clearly labelled and take a picture of it to show you your donation in action!
I've never done this before so please support me in this venture.
Remember, every penny counts, what may seem a small amount to you can mean the world to someone else.
SKT Welfare is a UK registered charity and international NGO established in 2008, dedicated to the delivery of humanitarian aid and socioeconomic solutions regardless of race, political affiliation, gender or belief. The organisation’s aim is to help relieve the suffering of the world’s poor and disenfranchised communities. SKT’s 100% donation policy means that every penny you donate is used for serving those in need, not administrative nor overhead costs, which are either covered by direct donations themselves or by using Gift Aid.
