Story
My name is Amer. 2020 was a life-changing year for me; I lost my father in April and then in December, at the age of 43, I suffered a hemorrhagic stroke. *Effects:* The left side of my body was affected and caused many complications. One of the symptoms has affected my ability to walk. It has been a long hard struggle pushing myself to re-learn movements we all take for granted such as getting dressed, writing and walking. *The Challenge:* To walk a minimum of 5km(but aiming for 10), raising money for a cause close to my heart ( a sadaqah Jariyah on behalf of my father). Travelling this distance will require a tremendous amount of effort but it’s a target I am determined to reach, for a cause I believe is worth the effort. InshaAllah I will be walking from Regents Park Mosque to East London Mosque (approx. 10km) one day this December. The exact day will depend on the weather and health but I'll be keeping you all posted with updates on this page. *The Cause:*. To build a safe house for vulnerable street children. These Children are often abused and forced to live life on the streets without the safety and protections that we have always enjoyed without a second thought. Unstable childhoods lead to long-lasting issues continuing well into adulthood, we can help some of these children to prevent this from happening to them. The project has already raised over £25,000 and we need approximately £15,000 to complete the fundraising target. I'm hoping to raise this amount or at least make a significant contribution towards the remaining amount inshaAllah. Please forward this message far and wide and share on your social media platforms. Donate as little or as much as you can. If you are reading this after the event, you can still make a donation! JazaakamUllah khair.
