Today should have been the 40th London marathon, so Rattles and Bones decided to take part in their own 2.6 Challenge, running 60 laps of the front garden on the backs of their human guardians in aid of the Bone Cancer Research Trust. Videos to follow!

We wanted to organise a #BoredomBuster for you all that would give us all a bit of fun (and benefit #TeamBones at the same time!) so we'd like to introduce you to our new fundraising partner.
Well - we would LIKE to introduce him , but he's the strong silent type and he won't tell us his name...so we thought we'd run a little competition to choose one for him. He needs a fun name to help him help us in raising money and awareness for the Bone Cancer Research Trust, and that's where you come in!
Entry costs only £2, with all proceeds going straight to the Bone Cancer Research Trust: the winning name chosen at 10pm on 31st March 2020 will earn an exclusive personalised #MyMateDaz tee shirt for the winner! To enter, simply go to www.justgiving.com/amelowarrior, click the Donate button, donate £2 and add your suggestion for his name to the “ Your Message” section.
This scrawny smiler is going to be the mascot for our new “Darren Wilkinson AmeloWarrior” fund , and he’ll be doing fun and amazing things to help us raise much needed funds for BCRT & #TeamBones.
Thank you!
Team Wilkinson

Sheffield carer’s jaw-dropping tumour prompts family-fun event in aid of the Bone Cancer Research Trust and #TeamBones.
To many people, Darren Wilkinson and his wife Mel are better known as the local couple who work tirelessly to organise the annual Sheffield Santa Run, raising funds every year for local and national charities. Devastatingly, just two weeks into 2020, Darren was diagnosed with a massive tumour in his jaw – a tumour so rare that just one person in around 5 million is ever diagnosed with it.
On 20th March, Darren is facing life-changing surgery to remove not only the tumour but also around 90% of his lower jaw and teeth in order to try to halt the spread of the disease known as Ameloblastoma, which has already eaten away a large part of his jaw.
Despite his shattering diagnosis, he is determined to use his experience to help raise awareness of ameloblastoma and other bone cancers, and so on March 14th he is hosting the “St Paddy’s Day (& a Pint!)” family fun run near Meadowhall in aid of the Bone Cancer Research Trust and #TeamBones.
Darren says: “There’s a long road of discovery ahead of me, so I have decided to take on this mission to raise vital funds and awareness for a brilliant – but not very well known – charitable organisation. On Saturday 14th March, we’ll be hosting a family 5km fun-run (fancy dress optional but encouraged!), with an inflatable pub at the finish line and a bouncy castle for the kids! We turned the canal towpath red and white at Christmas with the Santa Run – this time we’re going to turn it green and orange for St Patrick’s Day and #TeamBones!”
Once the runners have all received their medals and personalised t-shirts, and are enjoying their celebratory drinks, Darren is going to brave the shave, having his mop of hair shaved off to raise vital funds for the Bone Cancer Research Trust. Two lucky raffle winners will have the opportunity to be a part of this memorable event, by wielding the clippers to give him his brand new look.
“We’d love to see as many local families as possible come down to support us all”, says Darren, “ and to have some fun for what will be my last event for many months.”
"If you're unable to join us in person, we'd be grateful for any contribution you can make towards this appeal for the Bone Cancer Research Trust."
During Darren's ground-breaking surgery, he will be undergoing a procedure which will help him, hopefully, to grow a brand new jawbone over the coming year or so.
The route for the St Paddy's Day fun run is within a stone’s throw of Meadowhall, and is completely traffic-free and family-friendly. Entry is online at www.racebest.com/races/7g53t.
