Story
Aberystwyth Mountaineering Club are raising money in aid of Llanberis Mountain Rescue by walking up Constitution Hill (97m) until we have climbed the height of the Seven Summits (43,316m) We have set a time limit of 48 hours within which we will have to walk up 450 times on the 7th untill the 9th of May
We are doing this because Mountain Rescue are an extremely important volunteer service who are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and for a club like ours that spends so much time in the mountains, we feel a debt of gratitude to them. Any contribution you can make to this important cause is greatly appreciated.
Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team is one of the busiest in the UK with an annual callout rate of over 220 incidents. Based in and around the Snowdon area the team is made up of about 50 volunteers from all walks of life who are all experienced mountaineers. As a registered charity, we rely entirely on your donations to carry out the work we do in helping other mountain users.
We chose to raise money for Llanberis Mountain Rescue due to a couple of incidents where members of our club have required their assistance. We don't know what could have happened had they not responded so quickly and we are extremely grateful.
