Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Many of you may know that I have struggled with my weight and that I was never the sporty or active type. However last year I made a promise to myself that I would take back control of my life. It has been a real struggle but I’m getting there, I’m giving myself a second chance at life. This is why I want to run a half-marathon and why I want to do it for Cancer Research UK. Cancer effects so many of us and a couple of years ago I had the privilege to meet an amazing lady called Jane Neale, I met her while we were both in hospital, and I was there when she was diagnosed, despite what she as going through she would always make sure I was ok and that I wasn’t suffering. After I got released from hospital we kept in touch and she finally fulfilled her biggest wish: getting married. She invited me to the wedding and she looked so beautiful and was so happy, unfortunately a short while after this, cancer took her life. I am a huge supporter of Cancer Research UK because of Jane, the work they do gave her a fighting chance as they give so many others. Their work has saved lives and giving people a second chance to be with their loved ones, to laugh and to create more memories, however without the money, their research cannot continue. It will be a huge struggle for me but I refuse to give up, just like those who have been diagnosed, I will run for Jane, I will run for her family and I will run for every person out there who has had cancer affect their lives.
