Story

This April I will be taking part in the Bath to Edinburgh Charity Hitchhike with my partner Harry in order to raise money for Bath RAG's Big 4 charities (Designability, Julian House, Serve On and Off the Record) which are organisations local to Bath.

As a pair we will have to make our way from Bath to Edinburgh without spending any money on transport, with an aim to get there as quickly as we can.

Any donation will be greatly appreciated!

Designability - http://www.designability.org.uk/

Designability is a national charity joining expertise and knowledge to enhance people's lives. They believe that inclusive design is the only way forward and therefore work with end-users, carers and health professionals to help us understand the problem, find a solution and test it in real life situations. This has allowed them to transform 250,000 lives in the last 48 years.

Julian house - http://www.julianhouse.org.uk/

Julian House offers direct support to some of the most marginalised people in society – the homeless. As well as offering food and shelter, over time other projects and services have been developed to address the symptoms of homelessness and the underlying reasons why men and women are forced onto the streets. Julian House operates more than 20 different projects, accommodation sites and social enterprises. These include a range of homeless services, support for those suffering domestic violence, addiction recovery, individuals with learning difficulties, work experience and training.

Serve on - http://www.serveon.org.uk/

Serve on is a non profit humanitarian assistance and disaster response organisation that saves lives by supporting domestic and international communities in times of need. They train and equip dedicated members of the public, emergency services and former military service personnel alongside young people who benefit from a new purpose in life. By creating multidisciplinary teams of volunteers, they deliver immediate response when and where required. An example of this is making rescues from deep within collapsed buildings with the use of specialist technical search equipment and rescue equipment.

Off the record - http://www.offtherecord-banes.co.uk/

Off the Record was set up in 1994 to promote the emotional health and well being of young people. It has grown into a well-established and well-respected voluntary organisation serving the needs of young people in the area by providing a range of information and support services. Services include help with domestic violence & abuse, LGBT+ issues, listening support (information, support and counselling), Shout Out! (advocacy service for children and young people aged 0-18 years old), and young parents.
