Story
Thank you for stopping by to support me in my challenge! I have been given the amazing opportunity to acheive my childhood dream of riding in a race, in aid of Racing Welfare, at Thirsk Racecourse on August 31st 2018!!
My name is Amber Trainer. I am 27yo and have dedicated almost all of my working life to racehorses. Always a lover of horses from a very young age, I fell in love with the sport of kings one saturday afternoon, age 11, when I caught a glimpse of these amazing horses on Channel 4 Racing. There and then I had decided I wanted to be a jockey. At 17yo I left home for the first time and went to the British Racing School and then went on to work at various racing stables. For one reason or another, I never got as far as taking out a licence; perhaps if I had pushed myself more when I was younger we wouldnt be here now. However, that aside, I have been gifted the opportunity to acheive my childhood dream of riding in a race, and all for a worthy cause. Racing Welfare is a fantastic charity who supports the staff who work so endlessly hard behind the scenes to keep the show running, and giving these racehorses the very best care possible. Any support is massively appreciated both by myself and Racing Welfare.
I now work full time for Linda Perratt Racing, to whom I am incredibly grateful for trusting me with the ride on one of her horses, and for allowing me to go ahead and take part in the race. We are a very small team here at North Allerton so I know we will all be working very hard to keep our standards up.
Thank you all for reading, and even more so for donating, if you choose to do so. Wish me luck!!
