Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. For the past few years, I have seen the work of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre very closely and I have to say that this institution is truly a Pakistani miracle. In 1990s, experts had said that free cancer treatment in Pakistan is impossible to sustain but that didn't stop SKMCH team to dream big and achieve the impossible. This happened because Pakistanis trusted the institution and donated their hearts out. Fast forward to 2015, SKMCH team dared to open another branch of the cancer hospital in Peshawar to facilitate the high demand of cancer treatment in the country. You must be thinking about doubling of the budget and hence the need for twice as much donations ... well, the 2x donations followed and now SKMCH is planning to open a branch in Karachi. SKMCH raised about $39 million in 2016, $43 million in 2017 and has a target of about $55 million in 2018.
