Our nephew/cousin Bertie has Ullrich's congenital muscular dystrophy, this is extremely rare and caused by a random mutation in his gene code. Research into a cure is ongoing and real (exciting!) but the need for funding is desperate and urgent. 

Bertie's Buccaneers was started on behalf of Bertie to raise awareness and funds for research into a cure with MDUK. Bertie's Buccaneers is an official Muscular Dystrophy UK family fund.

We're trying to do our bit and raise some money and awareness by going really fast down a mountain on a bit of wire. Apparently we'll be reaching speeds of over 100mph!!! There will be photographic evidence...possibly some video!
