Story
I did this swim 6 years ago when Justin persuaded me that I'd be carried along by the amazing swoosh of water and would hardly notice the distance. He lied. The swoosh happens in the last 100m of a 6km swim whose main attribute was that it was 4 km shorter than the horrifically long River Dart swim we did the year before! Unfortunately I swim so slowly that by the time I got to the end I was totally chilled and had to go into the "Hypothermic tent" to regain my extremities. This time I have the heat wave on my side, but I am much less fit and have hardly swum at all this year. So the main reason I am doing it is because I totally believe in the power of sport to change people's lives and I am hoping to raise money for Level Water. They are a brilliant charity who use the power of swimming to improve lives for children with disabilities. Starting with 1-1 swimming lessons, they provide opportunities for children to learn to swim. If you are able and think it's a good cause, then I'd love it if you could make a small contribution. Thank you and be well! x
