My niece Aimee was diagnosed with Rett syndrome three years ago, it is a devastating disorder that has halted her development, at the age of five she has no speech, cannot sit up, stand or walk. Aimee is a happy little girl but will remain severly affected by this disorder for the rest of her life without the funding for research. Rett syndrome has already been reversed in the lab, Rett Syndrome Research Trust uk is the only uk based charity that soley funds research, having one goal, to find treatments and ultimately a cure.
