Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

This is my third time to do the Great North Run and I am hoping that despite getting older, I may be able to do it a bit quicker than before. I am raising money for the Anthony Nolan Trust, a charity that takes back lives from leukaemia. The charity aims to connect people whose immune system needs a boost with someone who is prepared to share a little of theirs. The Anthony Nolan Register aims to match leukaemia patients with bone marrow donors.

In the case of leukaemia, intensive chemotherapy and radiotherapy are used to eradicate the disease. The intensity of these treatments, known as conditioning, has the negative effect of severely weakening the patient’s immune system. The transplant provides the patient’s body with healthy cells capable of regenerating the immune system.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Anthony Nolan Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!
