Story
Patients who are terminally ill will need end of life care ; whether that's pain relief, specialist nursing, or emotional support. End of life care is very expensive and not all patients qualify for financial help from the NHS. Funding from local authorities is also not straight forward as it's on a means tested basis. Some patients simply have to pay for it all themselves and it can be such a difficult thing to sort out and worry about at what is already such a difficult time.
Hospiscare provides FREE care & support to people who have a life-limiting (terminal) illness, whether they have cancer, heart failure or a different life-limiting condition so that patients can focus on being as comfortable as possible. Hospiscare has a team of community nurses who visit patients at thier home as well as a specialist ward in Exeter. They also provide specialist dementia support as well as support for those who care for thier loved ones.
Please support the amazing work of Hospiscare by donating whatever you can. Every penny counts. No donation is too small.
To support Hospiscare I will be completing the Himalayan Trek in November. I will spend 2 days volunteering at the hospice in Kathmandu before starting the trek which will be over 5 days.
I've never been particularly fit, and I've never done any trek before so this is a big challenge for me but one I intend to triumph. This trek is not just about raising money - it's also about raising awareness. The more people that know about Hospiscare, the greater their impact, so please spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family.
** THANK YOU **
Thank you for anything that you can do to help. It means an awful lot to me to have your support and I know the charity will be extremely grateful for every penny that I raise.
