MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!! HURRAH
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Tragically, at the end of last year, my wonderful goddaughter, Sophie Raben, lost her courageous fight against cancer, just months before her 21st birthday. Sophie was diagnosed with Leukemia in December 2009 and fought the fight so bravely and with such dignity for such a long time. She had a Bone Marrow Transplant from one of her brothers, which gave her an extra year, but sadly she lost her battle at the end of September last year.
I have rather boldly put myself forward to do the Blenheim Triathlon on Saturday 6th June, as this is in aid of Leukemia. As the distances are not too testing, I have also signed up for the Hyde Park Triathalon on Saturday 1st June, which is in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care, both very worthwhile charities.
Obviously, I am doing this in memory of Sophie, but also for ALL the brave patients out there who battle this terrible disease every day. For the families who face the difficult time that lie ahead of them, I know firsthand the support and encouragement these charities provide is outstanding and a godsend. The treatments for these diseases involve years of chemotherapy and are gruelling, exhausting on patients and their families so all the help in finding more effective, successful and faster treatments will make an enormous difference to those suffering from these blood cancers.
Done!!
Please do sponsor me, however small. In memory of a very special person, and for all those that have the misfortune of encountering this horrendous disease. Thank you SO much, I will let you know how I get on.
Much love xxx
