Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am taking part in this year's Trekfest - The Brecon Beacons and raising money for First Light in the process.
I decided to take part in TrekFest (https://www.trekfest.org.uk/) after a rough year of being stuck at home and feeling like I needed a bit of adventure and challenge in my life.
I decided to fundraise for First Light (https://www.firstlight.org.uk/), who are a charity supporting people in the south-west who have been affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence, after beginning my training with them to become a volunteer mentor.
Lockdown and Covid restrictions have meant that First Light has seen an increase in demand of 50% + for it's services and I'm passionate about raising money for them so that they can continue to offer support to the people who need it.
I haven't set a target for fundraising as I would like to raise as much as possible. Here is where your money will go:
£3O will pay for a critical call on the First Light helpline in Cornwall,
enabling anyone who is affected by domestic abuse to phone in and receive help.
£5O will pay for an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) to have an initial client meeting in a high-risk situation and help them plan for a safer future.
£1OO will pay for one day of an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) to work with people who have been seriously assaulted, helping them with their recovery.
£3OO will pay for six sessions of therapy for a survivor of recent sexual assault or a person living with historic sexual violence.
£5OO will pay for one to one life-changing art therapy for six months for a child who has experienced sexual abuse.
