Story
My bucket list has always included running the London Marathon, so when I got the chance to run for the Play Barn I leapt at it. They are raising funds to build a soft play centre in Hertfordshire for children with low immunity and cancer.
I have two young children (Henry 5, Pippa 3) and cannot bear to imagine how hard it would be to be a parent of a child with an immune threatening illness. If that wasn't heartbreaking and hard enough for a family to cope with, it also restricts the child from many fun things most children do and we take for granted these days due to the life threatening risk of germs. Having spent a LOT of time in the last 5 years in soft play centres, I really value them - for the kids to have fun and exercise and for me to have a break and a hot cup of tea.
While I am a full-time mother currently and therefore have the huge luxury of being able to train in daylight hours, I have still been putting in hours and hours of running in snow, ice and rain. Anyone who knows me, knows I am not a natural runner & have only ever done one half marathon 15 years ago, so this is genuinely a real challenge for me.
So no matter how big or small, I would really appreciate your sponsorship to help get me through that 'wall' & aid this great cause.
