Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
The Midlands Air Ambulance is a charity that I have supported since Matt's motorbike collision with a van in 2003. Air Ambulance paramedics arrived on the scene to attend to his injuries before airlifting him to the major trauma unit at Selly Oak Hospital in Birmingham.
We are eternally grateful for the care and professionalism shown by the paramedics that day and donations to my page will help to fund future lifesaving missions.
It has been 10 years since my last marathon challenge and thanks to the generous donations of supporters, I managed to raise over £1000.
This year, I have decided to challenge myself again and have signed up for the following races:
January - Bolsover 10K
February - Carsington 10K
April - Derby 10K
May - Holymoorside 10K
June - Clumber Park 10K
July - Spire 10 Mile
September - Sherwood Pines 10K
October - Chesterfield Half-Marathon
November - Rother Valley full-marathon
The Midlands Air Ambulance Charity receives no Government or National Lottery funding. Each Midlands Air Ambulance mission costs £2,500 and in excess of £9 million is needed each year to keep its three air ambulances operational, which is donated entirely by the public and local businesses, with four in ten of those they help funded by Gifts in Wills.
If a patient reaches hospital within the Golden Hour (60 minutes after their injury) their chances of survival are dramatically increased. That is why the rapid response of the Midlands Air Ambulance is so vital in an emergency situation.
