Amanda was beautiful, fun loving teenager who loved life and was always smiling, she was an inspiration to so many people. At 16 years old Amanda was diagnosed with Leukemia and was treated at The Royal Marsden Hospital In Sutton Surrey. The Drs, nurses and staff made Amandas journey through her treatment as pleasant as possible and Amanda made the most of her time there. She helped to organise fun evenings for the other children and had planned to continue to help them when her treatment was finished. Amanda had her future planned out and wanted to give something back to the hospital that had helped her fight cancer. Amanda had a bone marrow transplant but sadly she caught a virus and died. Before Amanda passed away she was transferred from the ward to the Intensive Care Unit and a Portable Monitoring System was needed, it is the very important pieces of equipment like this that we aim to purchase for The Children and Teenage Cancer Unit at The Royal Marsden Hospital.
