Story

I am fundraising to support Mema's 2.6 challenge in honour of her Baba! As a daddy's girl myself, I know it would mean the absolute world to me to have support from my friends and family if I were ever in the same situation.

So, what's my challenge? I will run an average of 26.2 miles per week for 2.6 weeks with a goal of raising at least £260 x 2 (now shooting for £520!) for Brain Tumour Research. (Thats 2.6 marathons/68 miles/110K in 18 days!)

Check out the crazy things my girl Mema is doing over 26 days on her page - https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/mema-s-2-6-challenge

My progress so far: 68 of 68 miles completed!!

  1. April 22: 4 miles ran!
  2. April 23: 4 miles ran!
  3. April 24: 4 miles ran!
  4. April 26: 2.6 CHALLENGE official kick-off day! I joined Mema in Regents Park for a 6 mile run (2M/6ft away from her) while she not only scooted 26km, but also went above and beyond that to join me for my 6 mile run around the park! :)
  5. April 27: 4 miles ran!
  6. April 28: 4 rainy miles!
  7. April 29: 4.5 miles ran!
  8. May 1: 5 miles
  9. May 2: 6 miles!
  10. May 3: 4 miles!
  11. May 4: 4 miles AND 260 squats with Mema!
  12. May 5: 3.5 miles!
  13. May 6: 4 miles!
  14. May 7: 4 miles!
  15. May 8: 3 miles!
  16. May 9: 4 miles, and mission accomplished!

THANK YOU ALL for your support! It genuinely keeps me motivated to know I am making the smallest difference for Mema, her Baba, and Brain Tumour Research -- and that I have so many lovely friends, family, & coworkers supporting me in powering through this physical challenge, rain or shine, over the next few weeks.

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.
