I can no longer be in denial...I signed up for this half marathon a while back and can't ignore it anymore, training has started and I will need to do A LOT to complete this challenge! 

In 2009 my dad's Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma returned, he was treated with chemotherapy and then offered stem cell treatment at UCL in the hope of curing his cancer so that it didn't return. Dad went through a pretty brutal round of treatment and fortunately it worked and has added to his life. The treatment HCC give patients is astonishing and what they can do these days amazes me. I just hope that one day there will be a cure for all cancers; we certainly know and appreciate how lucky we are when so many dear to us have lost loved ones. I will be doing this with thoughts of everyone we know/knew and love/d who have battled through cancer.
