From 22 January – 18 April 2012 I am Volunteering in Costa Rica & Nicaragua for Raleigh International.
As a Project Manager, I will be involved in making a difference to local communities through projects to improve conditions and facilitate sustainable development. These projects range from building schools to gravity-fed water systems to protecting local wildlife such as through Turtle conservation. My objectives are to deliver the aims of the project while facilitating the personal development of the young people (17-24 year olds) in my group.
Why am I doing this?

Your money will go directly towards essential materials needed on community and environmental projects. We will be doing all the work to get physical results – Raleigh’s work ensures poor and marginalised communities have access to the fundamental building blocks in life, access to water, sanitation, housing and education.
Upon rediscovering Raleigh’s wonderful work a few weeks ago, I applied, went through an Assessment Weekend and got accepted to be a part of January’s expedition. Due to the need for speed, I only have till the 25 November 2011 to raise a total of £1950...After this time, any donations will go direct to the charity but won't help me out!
It sounds generic but my "thanks" is sincere,
