Story
On Saturday the 9th of September 2023, I’ll be taking part in the velocity 2 zip wire challenge soaring over Penrhyn Slate Quarry. This is the fastest zip wire in the world and the longest in Europe. After completing once before and finding it to be one of the most exhilarating experiences ever I thought why not do it again!! What better way to do it by raising money for a great cause very close to our hearts ❤️
The Hospice of the Good Shepherd is a charity and not part of the NHS providing their services to patients, carers and families solely on fundraising.
Almost everybody knows someone or has lost someone to cancer and a hospice can ensure a person is as comfortable as possible towards the end of their life, whilst also supporting family and friends through one of the toughest times of their lives.
On the 10th June 2011, my lovely Father in law Dave sadly lost his battle to this awful disease and spent up to 6 weeks at the Hospice of the Good Shepherd, he was extremely brave and courageous throughout his illness and was very much cared for by the amazing staff.
I know how much this charity means to a lot of people and I’d really love to help raise money by soaring through the sky!! When I saw this I couldn’t wait to take part again, any donation is greatly appreciated ❤️
Thank you so much
Mand xx

Hospice of the Good Shepherd provides its services free of charge to its patients and costs over £5.1million to run each year with just 20% of the funding we receive coming from statutory sources. The remaining 80% is raised from a range of fundraising activities and the support of our the generous local community in Cheshire. In addition, they raise money through their local charity shops and weekly lottery.
