I am taking on the Butterfly Bake for Claire House.

Claire House cared for 95 children and their families as they reached the end of their lives in 2020.  They call these children their Claire House Butterflies.  

As you know, our beautiful Isabel was one of these butterflies.  After shielding for 2 months, her cancer progressed, and it became clear she wasn't going to get better. Isabel and ourselves were so worried that her deterioration would mean she would end up in hospital, and with covid restrictions, would be alone.  Or if only one person was allowed in, how would Paul and I choose which of us should be with her?

Claire House had provided Izzy with support, counselling, treats, therapies and hydrotherapy during her treatment.  As the end came, they provided palliative care that allowed Izzy to stay with us, and Ellie, in her own bed, pain free. A blessing at such a terrible, terrible time.  They continue to support us and Izzy's memory despite covid restrictions and a reduction of income due to fewer fundraising opportunities.
