My first Marathon!

Manchester Marathon 2022 · 3 April 2022 ·
In December 2021 I was diagnosed with bowel cancer.
I am very lucky as my prognosis is good. Surgery mid April should hopefully remove the cancer without further treatment needed. It also means I am able to run my first marathon!
I didn’t start my marathon training very early - and then I had a slight setback 2 weeks ago, as I hurt my back! No running for about 10 days, then only steady runs since then. Luckily my back is much better now and I am determined to give the marathon a go! I am hoping that the miles I run each week, and the fact that I got up to 20 miles in training, should all help me finish! I am feeling confident that I can do it!
I wanted to show my support for Bowel Cancer UK - and highlight this important charity.
"Bowel Cancer UK are the UK’s leading bowel cancer charity. They fund targeted research, provide expert information and support to patients and their families, educate the public and professionals about the disease and campaign for early diagnosis and access to best treatment and care. They are here to stop people dying of bowel cancer."
Thank you so much! Wish me luck!
