We raise funds to tackle issues through influencing change

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am hosting and taking part in The Lady Mayoress’ Sleep Out at Guildhall Yard on Wednesday 30 March 2022 to raise awareness of homelessness in the City and to fundraise for The Lord Mayor’s Appeal and Spitalfields Crypt Trust.

You may wonder why I would voluntarily swap my comfortable bed in Mansion House for a sleeping bag under the stars on a potentially cold spring night. Homelessness is a cause very close to my heart and as a long-standing, active volunteer at a number of homeless charities I wanted to hold an event to raise awareness of the issue that is much bigger than many realise.

10% of the net proceeds of the event will be donated to Spitalfields Crypt Trust (SCT) which is an East London charity helping the local community to recover from homelessness, addictions, and other complex needs. The remainder of the net proceeds will go to The Lord Mayor's Appeal and its beneficiary charities, some of which focus on mental health issues which are often one of the main causes of homelessness.

My target is to raise £5,000 but I need your help to achieve this. Any donations, however small, will be received with immense gratitude.

If you are interested in joining me to take part in the Sleep Out please visit https://www.thelordmayorsappeal.org/news-and-events/events-calendar/1071/lady-mayoress-sleep-out/ to sign up.

Thank you for your support.
