Story

I am supporting The Green Heart Project's Back to School fundraising campaign, and I am asking for your support! The Green Heart Project is gearing up for its 10th year of Farm to School programs in Charleston. We need to raise $25,000 by September 9 to kick off partnerships with 6 schools in Charleston County, reaching 1,200 students.

The funds will be used to:

1) Prepare school gardens, including soil, mulch, plants, and seeds

2) Purchase program supplies, including culinary kits for cooking lessons, and garden kits featuring hand trowels, gardening gloves, and magnifying glasses for garden lessons.

3) Hire and train seasonal staff. Green Heart's dedicated Garden Educators lead students and volunteers in hands-on learning every week in partner schools.

Together, we can guarantee hands-on, outdoor learning experiences around healthy food for 1,200 students in our city! Learn more about the Green Heart Project at http://www.greenheartsc.org
