We help blind and partially sighted people to break down the barriers of sight loss

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Come and have a laugh at a new fundraising event for RNIB Ashford.  In March this year, at the opening of Ashford’s new park, Cuckoo Park, I, as the then Ward Member for Singleton South, said that I would climb the tallest climbing frame in Kent (9.38 metres or, in proper measurements, over 30 feet tall) to raise funds for the RNIB, a charity which has helped me and many other visually impaired people.

The date was dependant on getting a slot in the diary of RNIB Ashford’s Patron, the Rt Hon Damian Green MP, who will be present.  I’d love it if you are also able to come.

I’ve had a practise climb.  Going up is easy, coming down is a bit tricky.  Oh well!  At least with all the sand under the frame, I’ll have a soft landing if I slip!!

About the charity

Every day 250 people in the UK start losing their sight. With your help, we can be there when people need us most, support independent living, create an inclusive society and prevent avoidable sight loss. Every pound you raise will help create a future where sight loss is no longer a barrier.
