When my dad was in the final stages of Non-hodgkins Lymphoma, he was released from hospital, without being able to care for himself, and with no resources to help any one else to care for him either. MacMillan stepped in and we soon had a walking frame, wheel chair, and regular care. Although they don't provide the services themselves, they sprang into action and made sure all of the forms were filled out correctly, the appropriate agencies contacted. Within 2 days everything was in place and Dad was able to be at home, where he wanted to be, in his final days. This is not a public funded charity, but they are fulfilling a critical need.
