Story
Soooooooo I have decided to put some dancing shoes on and perform in Strictly Come Dancing to support St Joseph's Hospice. They provide end of life care for so many local families and they solely rely on donations. We all know how tough it has been for charity's over the last year. Its really important that we try and support local charities where possible, so I am going to try and dance to raise money. I am not quite sure why I decided that! A run would have been easier :)
I do love a dance, normally after a few vinos but I am no dancer! I have started lessons with the lovely Kaz and get to meet my dance partner this week to start to put it all together. It's all very serious and professional but lots of fun too.
I am learning that as you get older, its harder to remember things. The steps are so quick and trying to remember what comes next without falling over is not easy! They keep saying it will come with practice, we will see. I am spending hours dancing in the garden in heels. Not sure what the neighbours are thinking!
I am looking forward to the event my local friends, work sisters and hubby are supporting me by attending, which I am very grateful for. I am sure I will be very nervous but it's all for a good cause. No one knows when you need support from a charity like this. I would like to support them and allow them to continue the care and support they give to so many families at that very difficult time.
I appreciate every single penny that people donate. Even if I do fall over my own feet on the night, at least I can laugh and know we raised a lot of money for a great cause.
Thanks everyone, wish me luck xx
