Story
My mum was diagnosed with cancer over 4 years ago and after a very short battle died in the care of Dorothy House. The staff were amazing in her final days treating her with compassion and dignity whilst making sure her pain was well managed. She was where she wanted to be at the end of her life and we were by her side whilst she took her last breath. I will always be eternally grateful for what Dorothy House did for my mum and now want to give something back.
Me and my fabulous friend Catherine Bennett are running the Weston Super Mare half in March to raise funds for Dorothy House (was planned to be the Bath half but the date was cancelled so thankfully found an alternative half taking place in March! ) . Up until to now, I never believed a half marathon would be in my reach but feel totally motivated to smash this knowing what this is for.
Catherine and I have started joint training and are making good progress but still have more work to do, Any sponsorship for this amazing charity would be gratefully received,
Dorothy House Hospice Care has been privileged to have charity places in the Bath Half Marathon since 2002. Over the years we have had over 2,320 amazing runners taking part for Team Dotty. These legendary runners have raised over £750,000 for the charity and we are so proud of every single person who has been part of the team. We think that is simply amazing. We are so grateful to our runners and for every single donation, your support is so gratefully received. What an incredible impact each and every person has had in helping Dorothy House to provide vital care when it counts the most.
