Cancer invades many people's lives, we all probably know someone who has been affected by this terrible disease.

Over the last few years I have seen the lives of my mother, my friends and their children turned upside down by the news they have cancer.

In an attempt to support those caring for cancer sufferers, I picked up a bike for the first time in 30 years. It wasn't easy as I was carrying extra bagagge which was going to add complication! But with a bit of determination, shedding a few pounds and the wind behind me I feel I can give a charity cycle ride a good go!

So please support me on the 100km Manchester to Blackpool Bike Ride, it'll be painful... but not as painful as being told you have cancer and may not pull through. I know money is tight these days but dig deep, any amount is gratefully received.
