At some point in our lives, we will all be affected or have been affected by cancer or other life threatening condition. You could be the patient, family member, carer or friend. There will be physical impact which the NHS will amazingly treat but what about the emotional impacts and mental health impact that accompany the physical impact.

We Hear You (WHY) provide free professional counselling to anyone affected by life threatening conditions (in Somerset, Wiltshire and Bath and North East Somerset). The support can be accessed from diagnosis to any timeframe in the future.

WHY does not receive any funding from Central government. Their services are funded through grants, trusts and community fundraising. This is where you can help contribute to this fantastic service.

In September I will be taking on the 3 Peaks Challenge. Many of you will already know that I'm already in training for this, plodding the streets and slipping and sliding down muddy terrain. This is no mean feat - climbing over 10,000 feet and walking approximately 26 miles up Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon.

Pleas contribute as much as you can. The more sessions of counselling this can fund, the better, but also the motivation to summit these mountains for me, the better.
