To celebrate the 12th anniversary of my stem cell transplant and my 65th birthday in August I am walking 65 miles over 12 days between June and August with my husband, Brian, from our home in Newbold, Chesterfield via the three hospitals where I received treatment for chronic myeloid leukaemia between 2009 and 2015 - Chesterfield Royal Hospital, the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield and Rotherham Hospital.

The Sheffield Blood Cancer Trust is part of Sheffield Hospitals Charity and champions the incredible work done at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield caring for patients with leukaemia, myeloma and lymphoma. An incredibly dedicated multi-disciplinary team of nurses, doctors, occupational therapists, physiotherapists and support staff look after patients with blood cancer of all sorts. There are also strong links with scientists at the University of Sheffield who are working round the clock to discover cures for blood cancers and to make life better for patients and their families.
