Story
Hi everybody.. I'd like to start with a big thank you to those of you who've sponsored me so far.. You've helped me raise 97% of my £3,000 target. So, please spread the word to your friends as soon as you can and help me help others by giving whatever you can manage.
Here's my story again...many thanks Alwyne
Nearly 2 years ago I went on my first trek in aid of The Leukaemia Cancer Society. It was a life changing experience trekking through the wild and remote landscape of Tanzania. A time never to be forgotten for the kindness and wisdom of our Masai guides the spectacular scenery and close proximity to the amazing wildlife.
We had a challenging trek through the Crater Highland and Rift Valley sometimes climbing craters trekking through sweeping grasslands and negotiating hilly terrain. The images will stay with me always particularly the magnificent live volcano 'Oldoinya Lengai'. Superb!
Thanks to your generosity I raised nearly £4000 for the charity by completing that life enhancing trek and I'm proud to say I was among the top 3% of the justgiving page's highest individual fundraisers for 2014. So, once again a big 'Thank you'.
A couple of years on and a couple more years wear and tear... I am now setting myself a new challenge in November this year..
2016 in Cuba!
This is a 5 day trek from Havana on the north coast and across the Escambray mountains to Trinidad on the south coast.
The terrain varies greatly from overgrown jungle paths, uneven ground, steep uphill and downhill sections to forests and open tracks. Conditions will be hot and could well be wet at times...
I am currently keeping the aches and pains at bay with regular yoga and pilates sessions. I'm trekking the UK terrain, come rain or shine, under the eagle eye of my personal canine trainer Alfie! He assures me I can take this on!
The trek is also in aid of The Leukaemia Cancer Society. This crucial charity needs our constant support in order to continue their vital work helping people affected by this life threatening illness.

So, I'm off in November this year...
This time setting myself a target to raise at least £3000.
Please sponsor me by taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, so I can help the Leukaemia Cancer Society to continue their important work assisting people affected by this life threatening disease.
