As most of you know, we lost our dear friend earlier on in the year 2022 to Cancer which came as a huge shock to us all. She fought with her all for 11 months. She has left behind lots of family and friends who miss her dearly, including her three beautiful young children.

We wanted to do something special in her memory. Shelley was a brilliant Midwife at Barnet hospital. She dedicated years to her job and absolutely loved it, all the women and families she helped and the babies. She even helped us! We have chosen the charity Abigail's Footsteps to fundraiser for. They help in many ways, from creating sympathetic space for parents in hospitals, to providing much needed equipment for parents to spend longer with their babies whilst also offering specialist baby loss counselling sessions.

We need to hit our £2800 target for a cold cot to be made for us and sent to Barnet Hospital Maternity ward. A cold cot is a refrigerated cot that allows parents to spend more time with their deceased baby than would otherwise possible. The cold cot helps parents to bond with their baby and aids the grieving process. The cold cot will be fitted with a plaque with Shelley’s name in her memory.

Once we hit £2800 we can set up a second JustGiving page for Shelley’s three children that are 9, 5 and 4 years of age. All of this extra money raised will be donated directly to them.

We have NEVER ran in our life, even a 5k BUT we’ve got this for Shelley!! We know she would be laughing at us right now!
