Story
When my daughter Isabel was first diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 10, she was given a JDRF Kidsac which, amongst lots of useful information, contained Rufus! Rufus, pictured here with Isabel and I, is a very special bear because he has patches on him which show children where they can inject their insulin. He is also very special because he is cute and cuddly and a source of comfort.
Having completed the Hastings Half Marathon last year by belly dancing the route and thus raising money for JDRF, I'd decided that this year I'd be a bit selfish and do it, just for me and for the experience of running it. However, already this year I've learned of two new families who have been hit with the news that their child has been diagnosed with this life changing condition, so I've decided that I would try to raise money to buy five Kidsacs for JDRF- the twist is that Rufus will be coming with me! Please support the Ally'n'Rufus team - and if anyone has a pair of 'baby bear' sized trainers he can borrow, we would both be very grateful! Thank you xxx
