Story

Thanks for visiting my Race the Sun fundraising page.

I am taking part in this Challenge along with an awesome group of ladies I am proud to call my clients .

In June 2019, a group of 15 over 40 year old women from Zig Zag Women's Fitness & Motivation®, Stratford Upon Avon will race the sun (and other teams) to conquer the UK’s largest natural monument in aid of sick children and babies.

Kicking off from the Digeddi Wildlife Campsite near Glasbury, we start our day with a 34km cycle along the Gospel Pass, which, at 551 metres above sea level, is Wales’ highest road. Descending into Pandy, we swap our bikes for hiking boots and tackle a 30km trek along the Haterall Ridge of the Black Mountains, and down into the Wye Valley until we finally reach Glasbury.

The last of the three activities consists of paddling 3.4km in two-seater sit-on-top canoes down River Wye to our base – and finish line –  the Digeddi Wildlife Campsite!

All funds raised by the challenge will support the work of children's charity Action Medical Research, offering hope to the many thousands of families across the UK, who are dealing with the trauma of a baby born too early, striving to support a child affected by disability, or facing the challenge of caring for a child with a rare and devastating disease for which there is no cure.
