NEWS UPDATE: I completed the Amsterdam Marathon yesterday in 5 hours,
2 minutes and 27 seconds. I can't believe I made it all the way
around, and lots of thanks has to go to our friend Maria Russell who
stayed with me and encouraged me all the way around (even dragging me
over the last 500 metres). Very sore and achey now, but so happy to see so much raised - Thank you so very much!!!
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page in memory of my lovely friend Tina Wiseman and in aid of Epilepsy Bereaved.
Tina was a lovely, fun-loving, genuine and selfless friend who died very unexpectedly this Summer, at the young age of 37, after suffering from Epilepsy for some years.
Epilepsy Bereaved is a charity that supports families affected by SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy) and raises awareness and promotes research into SUDEP. There are over 1000 deaths a year from SUDEP in the UK, which is more than the combined toital of deaths from Cot-death and AIDS.I hope that by running that Amsterdam Marathon this October, I will be able to raise enough money to help prevent somebody else from losing a family member or friend from this condition.
This will be my very first Marathon, after only just starting to run 18 months ago and although not expecting to break any records, would be exceedingly happy just to survive the 26 miles.
