Story

AHOY THERE!!!  We are a bunch of rugged pirates called Jack Holloway, James Poynting, Jordan Yeatman, Xavier Ribsend, Mikel Iriate and Kitty Stewart, and we have decided to do something a bit wet and bonkers for a charity we love called All Hands.

On the 12th Sept we will be setting sail from Oxford and kayaking 60 MILES in 2 days to Windsor down the river Thames whilst dressed as pirates, "Ooooaaaarrrgghh"!

All Hands is a disaster relief charity who are currently doing amazing work rebuilding communities and supporting local people in Nepal after the devastating 7.8 earthquake that hit close to the city of Kathmandu on April 25th this year. More than 9,000 people were killed and over 23,000 injured.  These guys have projects all over the world helping people rebuild their homes and lives after having literally lost everything because of natural disasters, they make a real difference to victims who need immediate support and man power by working alongside the affected communities. To find out more about their support visit www.hands.org.

All Hands have been out in Nepal since the quakes helping to set up emergency tarps and shelters, distributing rice and blankets, constructing child safety zones and demolish and clear massive amounts of rubble and debris. But they are low on funds and need more financial support from us. So we have decided to take part in the All Hands Sponsored Kayak Challenge to make this happen! "GARRRRRR!!" But WE NEED YOU FILTHY LANDLUBBERS to sponsor us and donate money to all hands to make this happen!

Two members of our kayaking team volunteered with All Hands in the Philippines in 2014 and it was a life changing experience. We got to see the amazing work that All Hands Volunteers do and we have been supporting them ever since. We learnt many things in our time there but there was one thing that came to light and stood out brightly among the rest; Many hands make light work. So, from clearing rubble and rebuilding homes with All Hands to kayaking 60 miles in 2 days to raise money for them we plan, once again, to prove that many hands make light work.

With your support and donations we will help to rebuild the homes and lives of those who have been affected by the Nepalese earthquake.
