Story
On the 4th October 2013, my life was shattered by the sudden death of my daughter Emma.
Emma had been ill at the end of August with a bad cold and sore throat. Emma went to the doctors and was given anti-biotics, after a week Emma was back to her normal self.
On the 20th September Emma celebrated her 19th birthday and had started her 2nd year at Napier Uni. Emma had settled into her flat with her Uni friends and was enjoying her independance.
On the 1st Oct, Emma was home for a day out with her mum, gran, sister and neice and had a great day out. On the 2nd Emma was on a night out with her flatmates but was feeling unwell so they returnded home early. Emma was still felling unwell on the 3rd so stayed of Uni , her sore thraot and cold was starting to come back.Emmas flatmates checked on her throughout the day/night making sure she had plenty of water etc...
On Friday when everyone was getting up for Uni they went to check on Emma.......they found Emma had sadly passed away.
SEPSIS was the cause of Emmas death, the symptoms are FLU like, most people would pass this off as a cold and carry one regardless. We are trying to raise awareness and raise funds to help spread the word about this.
