As you may or may not know, Keith Sands and I are great friends, and although we slag each other almost everyday, it's time to get serious.
We both lost our dear Mums back in 2013. On the very day of my Mum's funeral, Keith's Mum very sadly passed away. I sent Keith a text in the morning saying how deeply saddened I was for him and his family. Two hours later, my Mum's funeral was to take place at Warriston and who was the very first person I saw there, Keith Sands. We have been friends since school and this shows just how sincere our friendship is.
We had always said we would do something together to honour our Mums and when we did we would try and make it big. So here goes!!
On 20th January 2020, exactly one year from today, we are taking on the challenge of an Arctic Trek in Finland for 6 days in support of Children 1st, Scotland's National Children's Charity.
We will be sleeping in tents alongside 14 other people who we don’t know and trekking in temperatures that can drop to -30 degrees. We are asking our friends to help in any way that they can to raise much needed funds.
We have already arranged a golf day at Duddingston Golf Club on Thursday 8th August and hope some of you can join us. We will be arranging other events to try and raise as much as we can with your help. Any donations at all will be much appreciated and we will be eternally grateful.
Thanks in advance,
Allan and Keith
