Established in 1813, St Mary's Church of England Infant School has been at the heart of the community for over 200 years.  The school is relatively small and provides EYFS and Key Stage 1 education to 90 5-7 year old children.

Its size contributes towards the familial, nurturing atmosphere that is a key factor in attracting many families who choose St. Mary's for their children's early years education.  

The buildings are the only thing about the school that is old, as the Headteacher and her dedicated staff are passionate about early years education and have developed a curriculum that ensures that the children at St. Mary’s are happy, challenged and excited about each day, every day. 

Our children are encouraged to achieve their potential, develop their talents and celebrate their uniqueness, and to take this further the school is undertaking a complete redevelopment of the outside space.

Outside space plays a significant role in childhood development; from the development of healthy and active lifestyles, contact with the natural world, places to explore and grow, and the increase in cognitive and problem solving skills developed through the creation of new neural networks.

I regard it as a privilege to serve on the Governing Board of the school and hope that you will support us in our endeavors.
